Solving Quadratics - TEST THIS WEEK!

Please use this post as a resource to help you prepare for your test this week - Thursday (A) or Friday (B)! Reminder that students must show all of the methods below to earn a 3. I've also included information about the extension (level 4) problems.

EXTENSION (Level 4) PROBLEMS
The extension problems for this unit involve using a 4th method for solving quadratics, and that is completing the square.

Solving Quadratics - Factoring/ZPP & Quadratic Formula

We've begun our new unit on Solving Quadratics, and students have a quiz on Wednesday (A) or Thursday (B).

Last week, at the beginning of this unit, students were given a purple packet with this unit's standards as well as a plethora of problems for practice. It is obvious that a majority of students are not completing assigned work outside of class - PLEASE encourage them to do so. The only way they will get better is by DOING, and it is very hard for me to help them when they have not attempted a single problem.

Below you will find worked out answers to a variety of problems from the purple packet. Additionally, you will find four worked out examples on the Quadratic Formula. It is imperative that they know this before leaving Algebra 1.
