Interpreting Functions - Day 1

Day 1 of interpreting functions was all about function notation - what it means and how we apply it within the context of a problem.

In class, students worked on an activity in groups. The answers to that can be found here.

If you are looking for additional support on interpreting functions, I recommend this video and this practice set. (If you refresh that last page, new problems will develop!)

Additionally, all students received their copy of their "Life Vest" aka a set of practice problems EXTREMELY SIMILAR to their test. Students only get one copy, so they best be takin' good care of it!

Answers to the whole packet can be found here, although it is not all due at any one time. Please do not just copy the answers - that does you no good. (EDIT: There are errors! My apologies. #endofyearteacherbrain. There is an error on #1 - part d, the answer should be (0, 3) and part f the answer should be one solution at (3, 3) although the y-coordinate is up for interpretation. There is an error on the answer to #6, part c. The answer should be -16 units/sec.)

The unit test will be on Wednesday, 5/23 (A) or Thursday, 5/24 (B).
